After completing my first sprint to a playable game I decided the least fun thing about it now was the fact I had to quit and reset to play another round and there was no sound.
With art direction satisfied for now, my next step was to create a playable prototype with a complete game loop, so I set myself the following sprint.
Whilst starting with art direction before prototyping any gameplay probably isn’t the wisest, I wanted to approach this a little different since it’s the area I keep getting stuck on. So I decided to create a basic scene to ensure I can create the style I have in mind before I get in too deep.
2017 has been a year of starting way more projects than finishing and the sticking point always seems to be 3D assets.
With the madness of this 48 hour game jam over and the sleep deprivation subsiding, I thought it was about time to take stock of what I learnt.
